Dearly Beloved is the first of a series set in the small town of Fayro, Texas, emphasizing the trials and tribulations of the Futrelle sisters, a trio of middle-aged women who once performed as a gospel group called “The Sermonettes.” chronicles the events of a massively disastrous wedding that features government cheese for catering, a UPS delivery man in a too-short robe as the minister, and the bride and groom nowhere to be found.

Lakewood Theatre is excited to bring to you their next production, Dearly Beloved.  The show opens September 19, 2008 and runs weekends through October 4, 2008.

The play features Jill Braddock-Wilson as Frankie Futrelle, Nancy Copeland as Twink Futrelle, and Karen Yates as Honey Rae Futrelle.  The Futrelle family is from Fayro, TX and they are gathered together for the wedding of Frankie’s daughter Tina Jo. A Gone with the Wind theme, the groom’s mother opposing the match, and a pig roasting in a pit outside the church, are just a few of the situations we find in this southern comedy.

The rest of the cast includes:  Jay and Kevin Oziminski, John Carpenter, Tammy Sutherland, Hillary Johnson, Patrick Sharpe, Linda Sparks and Wendy O’Neil.  Making his debut as director is Jeff McCann.  Come see this truly hilarious comedy written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with the show starting at 7:30.  On Sunday the doors open at 2 pm and the show starts at 2:30.  Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors 60+ and students.
